Lilly - Adopted 8/15/02

Lilly is a very beautiful 3 years old Flashy Sable Collie
female with unique markings. She is spayed and up to date on all her
vaccinations.
She is quiet, well-behaved, eager to please and
snuggly. She is shy but after a little while she
warms right up to you and follows you everywhere.
Lily will probably not need a fenced yard once she
gets used to her forever owner as she will just
stick by their side.
Lilly is crate trained and house trained. She has
spent most of her life indoors, going out only for
potty breaks on a leash and to run at the dog park.
Lilly can sit and lay down on command. Lilly is good
with other dogs and cats.
She would not do well in a home with children or a
lot of activity or noise.

Yesterday was one of the nicest
days I have ever had!!!!
I hope I can find the words to adequately describe
our day yesterday. We drove Lilly to her new home
just off the lake. (Lake Michigan) and Golf course
right down the road with a view you wouldn't
believe, but the best is yet to come...
As we drove up the road here is this sign..."WELCOME
LILLY" in front of the house. We turned into the
driveway and this lovely wonderful lady was standing
there waiting to welcome us and waiting for her
Lilly to arrive home. And what a home our sweet
Lilly has. She was welcomed with the most wonderful
gifts, a large basket of gifts special for Lilly
that Kathy's sons girlfriend made with a big pink
stuffed bone, a Kong, and so many wonderful new
things for Lilly, I couldn't believe it. Then next
to the basket was this picture in a frame of flowers
with the name ...LILLY...printed in the frame. A
balloon to welcome Lilly and happy birthday
decorations around the kitchen. Kathy had boiled
chicken earlier for a special food treat. There was
a bowl full of dry food and another full of fresh
water. A crate in the laundry area big enough for me
to sleep in, with soft blankets for Lilly to lie on,
just incase Lilly felt scared at first. Lilly is
very shy and reserved with strangers but after a few
days with Ron and visiting at my house she was
totally at home with us and like a Velcro pup to
Ron, especially if she wanted safety. She also would
bark if she saw anything unusual in or outside. So
she will protect and guard. Lilly is a one-person
dog and she now has quite a wonderful person to love
her and for her to love.
Lilly will never want for anything but especially
she will never want for love and attention. They now
have each other and what a great match they are.
Kathy also said she was so happy with the pleasant
experience it has been for her with MWCR. She said
that it meant so much they way our rescue kept in
contact, by phone, not leaving her waiting and
wondering if she would get her collie very soon. To
Andrea's credit I am sure, as she is who Kathy was
talking with to get her Lilly from MWCR. Kathy also
made a very generous donation to MWCR in addition to
her adoption fee so I am very grateful to her for
all she will give to Lilly and what she donated to
MWCR. She truly is a very special lady and I know
she and Lilly will be very happy.
Can't tell you how good this was for us to see.
Thank you Andrea for giving Lilly to Kathy and Kathy
to Lilly.
Hugs to all
Cheri
p.s. Kathy has been giving me Lilly updates as she
calls them, almost every day and I can just hear the
happiness in her voice in the last one. She calls
Lilly her little Velcro collie. Her son calls her
Lilly pad. She just loves her sweet Lilly. As soon
as she sends me a picture I will send it to you.
Lilly was fostered in Deforest, WI.
