Bio for Haley

Haley, aka Haley Berry, is new to MWCR and with her gentle, playful nature she won't be here long. Haley is a striking, collie girl whose two favorite pastimes are cuddling and playing. She loves to retrieve toys and is always ready to initiate playtime with her collie, foster brother. She is a chatty girl who expresses herself with the customary collie "grumble" and an occasional bark for attention. 

Haley is a well behaved, little lady who walks well on a leash and knows the basic commands. Her only true dislike is motorcycles and she will pounce on that killer vaccum cleaner. Since being with her foster family she has discovered what "fun" it is to dig in foster mom's flower beds but we are working at stopping this behavior. Other than that she is smart, eager to please and loves children and other dogs. She would probably do best with older children, since her playful nature might be a little too exuberant for little ones. Haley needs a fair amount of exercise and would probably do best with a fenced in yard, walks and playmate to help. She loves to play, play and play some more along with her daily walk.

Haley's only weakness is food. She prefers "people" food and is willing to beg to get it, although her foster mom believes that she will eventually abandon this behavior if it is not rewarded. When it comes to her own food, Haley was a lot less enthusiastic. She was a fussy eater, but can always be tempted if a dollop of plain, fat-free yogurt is added to her food. Since she has a sensitive stomach she cannot indulge in people food or dog food containing wheat or corn but her foster family has her on a good dog food(Solid Gold or Wellness brand)  and all natural treats on occassion.

Haley's spay has been completed and she is recovered from it nicely. She is ready for a loving, forever home that could include older children or a doggie playmate. Hale's new family will need to keep one thing in mind, however. She will sometimes attempt to sneak up on the bed for a snuggle. If you tell her to get down, she will. But be warned, there is no way to keep this little girl from sneaking into your heart! Haley is also one fun collie!
