Jack  ADOPTED!!

Jack is an adorable 10-week-old boy. His mom and litter were owner surrendered to a shelter. The mom is believed to be purebred, we aren’t sure about the puppies - Papa may have been a rolling stone... Regardless, Jack is a cutie and he has webbed toes so perhaps he has some spaniel in him? This boy is a great puppy. He is fun, energetic, smart, and playful.

Because he is so young, Jack is not yet housebroken, but he is catching on rather quickly. He loves toys, bones, and a good romp with the kids and other dogs. On the flip side, he does love to be held and loves to give wonderful puppy-breath kisses. He does very well in a crate and is being crate trained. He has not soiled his crate at all and cries very little. He sleeps through the night (and not many puppies do that). Given the fact that he is a puppy, I highly suggest that the new owner continue to crate him until he matures and becomes trustworthy not to get into trouble on his own. He does so well in the crate, it is his room, and he does like the security of being in his room with his toys and food.

Puppy socialization and/or obedience classes are highly suggested. He loves the individual attention and will bond quickly with any family as long as they are loving and kind. I anticipate that a fenced yard will be needed as he does have an independent streak and will go off on adventures if not watched. The world is SO exciting!

Jack is learning come, sit, and down. He is catching onto his basic commands very quickly. He is very food motivated, which will help with training. We will be starting to take him to puppy classes this week to help get him started on more formal training. Jack needs a home equipped to meet his puppy needs. I fully anticipate him to grow up to be a great dog. Although he may not be a purebred collie, he certainly displays many wonderful collie traits and temperament. Jack will be available for adoption after he is neutered. Won’t you give Jack the good home that he deserves?
