Sabrina is a loving, gentle, collie girl who can teach us all a lesson about how to slow down and "smell the roses." At nine years old, Sabrina has learned that some of the best things in life can be enjoyed on a leisurely stroll in the park or from a soft cushion on the front porch. The occasional treat and a cozy snuggle with her foster mom round out the perfect day for Sabrina.
When Sabrina first came to MWCR, she was in need of grooming and eventually had to be shaved to get rid of all her mats. She also had been seriously overindulged with treats and other goodies, and
has lost 20 pounds. Just as with people, excess weight in dogs can cause some health issues, and Sabrina's extra pounds have given her a somewhat displastic gait and some fatty growths that
has lessen as she lost the excessive weight. She now walks much more
comfortably than she did in June. Also, like many older dogs, Sabrina has the beginnings of cataracts, but they don't appear to be giving her
any trouble at this time although her hearing is alittle off.
Sabrina is a sweet natured girl, who gets along well with everyone, including other dogs. She is not at all food aggressive, but years of receiving "people food" as treats (coupled with her reduced calorie diet) have taught her that begging with her soft, brown eyes is a good way to get what she wants.
She has learned this does not work.
Sabrina is looking for a quiet, forever home with gentle people who will take her for leisurely strolls and will enjoy just hanging out with a loving companion. A fenced yard would be a real treat too! Sabrina has many good years ahead and is looking for a warm place in someone's heart and home to spend them.
She is not aggressive but will try to chase squirrel and bark at other
dogs and bicycle riders! She is very much the social butterfly and
is good with children!
Sabrina is being fostered in the Milwaukee area
