Spence

 8 month old sable male

There is nothing like puppy love!  Unless it would be puppy energy, puppy playfulness, puppy curiosity, puppy ...

Spence aka Spencer is still a puppy at heart.  He is a nine to twelve month old, rough coated, sable male.  He has long legs, big feet and already weighs 48 pounds, so Spence is likely to grow up to be a big collie.  He has gorgeous blond fur with white legs and feet, and will ultimately become a very handsome adult.  He is smart, alert, inquisitive, and loves everyone he meets, including men, women, children and other dogs.  The world is a very happy place for Spence, and when he isn't running, leaping, playing, and chewing on his stuffed squeaky toys, he loves to mellow out, cuddle up and get his tummy scratched.

Spence already knows a few commands, including "sit," "come," and "no."  He is well on his way to being housebroken, although he still needs to be taken out often to avoid puppy accidents.  He enjoys going for car rides and behaves well in the car.  He is very interested in exploring his world, and a lot of that is done with his mouth.  Spence says you can't really know a thing until you have given it a good chew!  Much to Spence's surprise, his foster family doesn't always appreciate his "exploring," and this is how Spence has come to learn the "no" command.

Spence is scheduled to be neutered on May 5th, and after he has recovered, he will be ready to bring a little puppy love to some lucky family.  His ideal home would have a fenced yard to run and play in and lots of love.  It probably shouldn't include very young children, since all that puppy energy might be a little too rough for kids under eight.  Spence would really enjoy going to obedience training, and it would not only help him grow into a canine good citizen, but it would also be a great way to bond with his new, forever family.  This is one case of puppy love that will last a lifetime.

Spence is being fostered in Goodhue, Minnesota.
