2-year-old Sable and white femaleNot good with Small Children Seeks companion of canine persuasion

New to Rescue!

Dainty and feminine describes this little tomboy.  At 40 pounds, two year old Autumn is a graceful girl who enjoys mixing it up and playing "collie games" with her two older foster brothers. She thinks the boys are great fun, and tries to emulate them by following their behavior.  She is completely housebroken, walks well on a leash, and comes when she is called.  Initially, Autumn was a little shy of loud noises, but now shows no signs of nervousness.   A natural cuddler who enjoys a good tummy rub, Autumn can "sit" and "down" on command.  She is very energetic and playful, and is still in the jumping stage, so will need somebody to work with her to learn young lady manners.

She is a good watchdog, and is also a bit of a chatterbox, sometimes she likes to talk just to talk. She will need a bit of instruction on when it is ok to bark, and when it is not ok.  Autumn appears to be an adaptable girl. Her foster family says it was quite remarkable how quickly she adjusted to her foster home. She is learning to tolerate routine brushings, and greets strangers in a friendly, but cautious manner. She is good with children, but might be a bit exuberant for tiny tots.  She has not met any cats yet, but her overall demeanor would indicate that she would most likely adapt well to them. With such a happy, pleasant outlook on life, pretty little Autumn will be a joyful addition to her new family.

Autumn is being fostered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
