Update for Cody

Recently, Cody's foster brother was adopted out to his forever home, and it has made a big change in Cody's behavior.  He has become much more friendly and outgoing with people, and is far less timid with other dogs.  In fact, he plays almost non-stop with the other collie in his foster home and actively seeks out attention from people.  Given these changes, Cody's foster mom thinks his ideal, forever home should include either another young dog or older children who will spend time and play with him.

Along with Cody's new-found confidence, he has developed a taste for chewing clothing.  He doesn't chew on anything else and his foster mom is working to break him of this habit, but until then his family will need to keep socks, tee shirts, etc. out of Cody's reach.

Intake Bio for Cody

Cody is a very handsome, neutered, four year old, mahogany boy.  He has a lovable, friendly "smile" that just makes you want to smile back!  He knows several commands including "sit," "shake" and "give kiss."  (The last one is his personal favorite).  He is mostly house broken, rides well in cars and walks politely on his leash unless other dogs are around to distract him.

It is hard to believe, but this good looking guy has a self esteem problem.  He is a little timid with other dogs (particularly dominant ones) and with new people.  Once he knows and trusts you, however, he is very playful, especially with older children.  His foster family does not include young children or cats, so those are unknown quantities with Cody.  He has lots of energy but is also happy to curl up and lounge with his family.

Cody is looking for an active, forever family who will help him become the confident, self-assured collie that he wants to be.  A fenced yard would be ideal since Cody loves to run and doesn't always come when he is called.  Another, non-dominant dog would be fine, but Cody would also be happy as an only dog.  In exchange for lots of love and attention, Cody will fill your home with smiles and collie kisses.

Cody is being fostered in Hartland, Wisconsin which is near Milwaukee.
