Cricket

2 ½ year old Sable & White Female

Adoption Pending!

Cricket is a two and a half year old playful whirlwind of a girl.  When excited, she will run around in circles, or run around and around the couch.  This has her foster siblings a bit perplexed, but is just her way of saying "I'm so excited, I can't contain myself!" A rambunctious young sable collie of 50 pounds, Cricket desires very much to please, and with some basic training, will settle down into a delightful young lady.

She has a great sense of humor, and is very well behaved -  although a bit rambunctious for small children, Cricket does enjoy a bit of "nip in the butt" rowdiness with other dogs (or people if the opportunity were to present itself!). Like any youngster, human or collie, she definitely needs a home where she will get plenty of exercise to keep her from getting bored or into mischief.  Agility or Herding lessons would be a great and fun hobby! At this young stage in her life, Cricket is still full of spit and vinegar, and tends to jump up on people to demonstrate her affection and enthusiasm. With appropriate training, exercise, and mental stimulation, this happy spirit can readily be channeled into a charming, fun-loving imp of a girl.

Cricket hasn't attempted the stairs in her foster home, so most likely would need assistance in learning to navigate steps. She will be the first in line to claim her foster father's recliner if it is vacated.

Not a huge barker, Cricket does like to "talk" if excited, or while being brushed (which she enjoys, and will nip/nibble during the process to show her delight). When told to "go to her room" she will go into her crate.  Riding in a car is another exciting thing for Cricket, but after a bit of standing to check out the action, will settle down for the ride. Cricket does get a bit started by sudden loud noises, but recovers quickly. A fenced yard is required for this sociable girl.

The home that welcomes Cricket will be brightened by the happy sparkle ever present in her eyes.

A vet was unable to confirm that Cricket has been spayed, so she will be living with her foster family for six months to see if she comes into season.  It is MWCR policy that dogs may not be adopted until they are spayed or neutered.  After six months have passed or Cricket comes into season and is subsequently spayed, her foster family plans to officially adopt her.

Cricket is being fostered in Spring Valley, MN
