Holly II (right) with Madison

New to Rescue!

These are two of the most beautiful girls you will ever find.  They are sisters, born on 12/23/03, who have been raised together and are as alike as peas in a pod!  Holly is the larger of the two at 63 pounds with a lovely mahogany and white coat.  Madison is a little smaller at 51 pounds and is sable and white.  Both have been spayed.  Because these lovely girls have grown up together and are closely bonded, we are looking for an adoptive home that will keep them together.

Holly and Madison are both crate trained and housebroken.  They know basic commands - come, sit, stay - and walk well on a leash.  They stay close to their foster mom while outdoors and, in the right setting, they won't need a fenced yard.  Unlike their collie foster siblings, they have no interest in chasing squirrels, but bikes, ATV's, and lawnmowers are another story.  Their ideal home would be in a quiet, country setting where such distractions would be limited.

Holly and Madison are extremely affectionate girls who love attention, petting and cuddling.  They are both playful and easy going and are friendly with everyone, including strangers.  They love children but would do best with older kids since their exuberant, puppy-like play might be too rough for very young children.  They are also good with other dogs, although they are extremely food aggressive and need to be fed away from any other animals.  Their foster family includes a cat and though their behavior has been acceptable so far, their foster mom has not yet left them alone with kitty.

Holly and Madison are two beautiful, loving, eager to please collies who are very much alike in style and temperament.  However, each has her own unique charm.  Holly is a little more shy and a little more laid back than her sister.  Her perfect day would include cuddling with her humans or lying in the grass with her chew bone.  Madison, on the other hand, loves to play fetch and run through the sprinkler.  Anything that involves a hose appeals to Madison, and she will gladly help you wash the car or water the garden.  In fact, her foster mom has even bought her her own sprinkler!

Holly and Madison are looking for a forever home together, preferably in a quiet, country location.  Other dogs would be fine (as long as they aren't fed together), but aren't necessary.  What is necessary is lots of love, and in return these lovely ladies will give you double the collies kisses!

Holly is being fostered in Bowlus, Minnesota (north of St. Cloud).
