Daisy

1½-year-old smooth female collie

Daisy with Friends

Update, June 21, 2006!

Is there anything more cheerful than a Daisy? Just looking at one can make you smile. The same is true of our Daisy, and yet, before she came to MWCR, her family rarely bothered to look at Daisy’s smiling, cheery face. She was kenneled outdoors where, for days at a time, she was isolated and alone. Whenever her family came outside, Daisy would put on her happiest, cheeriest smile, but they just went about their business.

Because she grew up alone and outdoors, Daisy is easily startled by loud noises and sudden movements. When new people come to her foster home, she is initially a little shy, but once she gets to know them she is extremely friendly and affectionate.

Daisy’s foster home includes two cats and another dog, and she gets along well with both. She loves to play with her collie foster brother and would probably play with the cats too if they would let her. Daisy is too polite to say it, but privately she thinks that cats are a little boring – they hardly ever want to run and chase, and they NEVER want to play tug with the rope toy! Her foster family doesn’t include any human children, so we aren’t sure how Daisy would be with kids. She is still young and very energetic, so she might be a little too rough for younger children.

Daisy is extremely smart and already knows several commands. With all of her youthful energy she would be a great candidate for agility training. In addition, she is smooth coated which means that unlike her rough coated counterparts, she is a breeze to groom.

Daisy would be the perfect dog for an active family that is looking for an energetic young collie companion who, at the end of the day, still loves to cuddle up with her humans. A doggy pal would be great, but not necessary, and a fenced yard where she can run and play, would be ideal. In return, Daisy will lavish her family with love and affection and that great Daisy smile!

New to rescue!

Daisy is a darling Collie. She is about 1½ years old, spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and looking for a wonderful new home of her own. Daisy 's owners didn't have enough time for her. She had been living on a farm and when left loose, kept wandering across the busy road where she lived and could have been hit. Thankfully she wasn't!

Daisy is very obedient; knowing sit, stay, down. She is just a puppy yet, & she gets pretty excited and likes to jump up to give you kisses.

Daisy is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN.
