New to Rescue!
Do you remember that gangly but nice kid from high school? His social skills sorely needed polish and he couldn’t talk to a girl if his life depended on it? However, five years later he showed up a self assured millionaire. Made you wish you were a little nicer to him didn’t it?
Meet Jasper, the collie equivalent of that high school classmate. It’s impossible to not hug him while you are telling him what a big dope he is! Jasper loves absolutely everyone he meets and he really thinks everyone loves him right back even more! Jasper is our new collie alarm clock. He leaps from bed to bed every morning greeting his foster family with a 50 pound smooch. He is pretty good with other dogs, but he is clueless about their need for personal “space” This is a collie that really embraces his youth!
Jasper was found as a stray in a southern Wisconsin community. He was treated for whipworm and is on antibiotics for an ear infection and a mild Kennel Cough. He is a lean collie and can stand to put on a little weight—which is a good thing. Treats for positive reinforcement come in handy with this handsome fellow!
Jasper will fit in with any family who is willing to help him grow up into the polite gentleman he really wants to be. Obedience and continued leash training are a must for this bright young boy. Families with very young children may wish to choose a less exuberant dog.
Jasper is being fostered in Duluth, MN.
