Tanya

1½-year-old white female with mahogany and sable markings

New to Rescue!

This beautiful, white and mahogany sable girl came to MWCR after being rescued from a southern Illinois impound, and everyone who has met her since is mystified that her owners never came forward to claim her. In addition to her striking good looks, Tanya has a gentle, loving personality that would make her the perfect companion in almost any household.

Tanya is roughly 18 months old, spayed and up to date on all her vaccinations. She knows the basic commands (sit, stay, down) and though she hasn’t had any formal leash training, she walks well on a leash. Tanya gets along well with the other dogs at her foster home, but her attitude towards pets of the feline persuasion is not known, since her foster family doesn’t include any. She is also very gentle and well behaved around children.

Tanya’s foster mom says she never needs to crate Tanya, who is well mannered in the house and never jumps up on the furniture. She is not an excessive barker, though she will bark for treats and when cars or people first come to her foster home. She would be happy in either a rural or a suburban home, since she doesn’t need a large yard for exercise.

Tanya is ready for a forever home that will appreciate her anxious-to-please attitude and will return her unconditional love. This gentle, affectionate girl will be a wonderful companion for almost anyone – adults, kids, other dogs, etc.

Tanya is being fostered in Minnetrista, MN.
