New to Rescue!
Puppies, Puppies, Puppies!!!
There is nothing cuter than a puppy and our two are no exception. Bella and Emmie are sisters whose father was a purebred, sable collie and whose mother was a border collie or sheltie mix. Bella looks more like a border collie than her sister, but she is the one who inherited her collie father’s disposition. Unlike her sister, Bella doesn’t seem to have a strong herding instinct. She is just a gentle, happy-go-lucky girl who is more likely to lick a sheep than to stare him into submission with a single glance.
Bella is good with other dogs but is definitely more reserved than her sister. She likes to let Emmie take the lead, and she would probably do best in a home that included another dog for her to lean on and learn from. She is far less dominant than her sister, but she is still a puppy with lots of playful energy. She would do well in a family that didn’t include toddlers, because as she grows she might be prone to accidentally knocking over little ones. She has been respectful of the kitties in her foster home.
Bella is too young to be housebroken, but when she is left in the indoor/outdoor kennel, she always goes outside to do her business, so she should be relatively easy to housetrain. She has already been spayed. She knows her name and is smart and eager to please. Even though she doesn’t have the herding instinct of her sister, it would probably be best for her forever home to include a fenced yard where she could run and play.
Bella is a gentler, more low-key version of her sister Emmie (the wild child). She loves to lie on her back in your arms where she can get tummy rubs and give gentle collie kisses. She is also quiet for a collie.
Bella is looking for a forever home familiar with the needs of a young puppy. Even though she is less assertive than her sister, she is still a puppy with lots of energy and curiosity. She will be a little bewildered when she is separated from her more dominant sister and would love to have another dog to show her the ropes. She is a sweet and beautiful little girl who will quickly grow into a gentle, loyal, loving friend for some lucky family.
Bella is being fostered in Sycamore, IL.
