#2385 – Wrigley, FKA Brock

9-month-old smooth blue merle male  Must have a Fenced Yard

New to Rescue!

Hi! I’m Wrigley. I’m named after the famous ballpark in Chicago, because I have Cubbie blue in my eyes, and I am staying with my foster family in suburban Chicago. I’m glad they named me after a place that is as special as I am. It’s where families go to make happy memories, and I know that I can make some happy memories for the lucky family that adopts me.

My doctor says I’m nine months old, and you know what that means. I love to run and play! I am constantly harassing my collie foster brother so he will come and play with me. I really get along well with the other dogs here, and I love my non-furry foster family too. I love to cuddle with them and I follow my foster mom everywhere. She’s trying to convince me not to jump up on her when she comes home, and I’m learning, but sometimes I still get so happy to see her that my heart overrules my head and then I jump up and cover her with collie kisses.

I like to go for walks and because I am such a strong boy, we use a gentle leader. I walk nicely beside mom and when she stops, I automatically sit. She thinks it is neat that I learned to do this in just two days, but I can’t figure out why she wants me to sit when we are going for a walk! Women!

My perfect forever family will have to include older kids for me to play with, but no little ones because when I show my love and happiness, I use my whole body. When I am left alone for more than a few minutes, I can’t help the exuberance I show when you return. Another active dog would be great and would help me burn up some of that puppy energy, but an active family that likes to walk or jog would also work. I have to have a fence, because if I am focused on something interesting like a squirrel or a bunny, I don’t always hear when I am called. It’s kind of like some dads when they are watching the big game.

Well that’s me. Foster mom has some things to say, so I guess I’ll just close by saying that I would really love to have my own forever family to take walks with, play with and most importantly snuggle with at the end of a busy day. Oh, and if you’re not a Cub’s fan, I guess I could get used to being called Twin or Brewer or whatever!

P.S. from foster mom: When Wrigley first came to us it seemed that he had never had much attention. Now that he is used to getting love and affection, he just can’t get enough. He is not “in your face” clingy, but he really wants to be close to his humans and as long as you are around, he is a happy guy. He would benefit from some obedience training, but he is so smart and eager to please that he will learn very quickly. Wrigley is a lovable boy who will give you his whole heart and soul for a pat on the head and the chance to curl up at your feet.

Brock is being fostered in Brandon, WI.
