#2329 – King

6-year-old mahogany sable and white male

Post-Adoption Update March 14, 2007!

King is doing well in his new home. He has taken over the couch with his blanket. He likes to take walks and he gets along well with his "cuz," a Lab. They enjoy wandering around on the farm together. King is mostly indifferent to the sheep and the steers and would rather not be disturbed by his younger, playful cuz.

New to Rescue!

In spite of his name, this King has none of the aloof, regal mannerisms generally associated with royalty. He is a lovable, easy-going guy who likes nothing better than to gnaw on a good rawhide chew or cuddle with his foster mom. King is a six-year-old, neutered, mahogany/sable and white boy who gets along well with the other dogs at his foster home, but particularly loves to be with people. He follows his foster mom around and gently nudges her hand or arm when he wants to be petted. He is an extremely gentle guy and has been very well-behaved at his foster home.

King doesn’t like the cold weather and has been reluctant to be outside for very long in the recent sub zero temperatures. His foster mom thinks this is responsible for one or two “accidents” that he has had when left alone for prolonged periods. In the cold weather his trips outside tend to be as brief as he can make them!!

King has a good appetite and always “speaks” for his breakfast or dinner. This is particularly pronounced when foster mom isn’t as quick with the food bowl as King thinks she should be.

This gentle boy will make a wonderful companion for a couple or family who are looking for an affectionate, cuddly friend. It is unknown if he gets along with cats, but he fine with other dogs, or he would be thoroughly contented to reign as the “only” dog in a loving forever home.

King is temporarily being fostered in DeForest, WI.
