New to Rescue!
Megan is a lovely, two to three year old, collie girl with an alert, eager expression that just cries out “Pet me!” She is a tall, stately collie who weighs about 70 pounds and loves to go for walks to meet and greet other dogs and people.
Megan loves children and does well with them, but her size and strength might make her a little intimidating to very young kids. She also gets along well with the other dogs at her foster home though she occasionally exhibits some mild food aggression. Megan can’t get enough affection and is both persistent and assertive if she feels that the other dogs are getting more attention than she is. She is better with women than men and may have suffered some abuse, since she is skittish around guys.
Megan has been spayed and her health is good, though she is currently taking medication to control some mild incontinence.
Megan is extremely loving and listens attentively when spoken to. She knows her name and responds to it when called, although if she is off leash, she can be distracted by other dogs. Her foster home does not have a fenced yard, so Megan is taken for walks several times a day and is always ready for more. A fenced yard would be ideal.
Megan is ready for a forever home that is as full of love and joy as Megan herself is. It could include bigger children and other dogs or a couple or single woman. The men in her forever home will have to be patient with her while she learns that they can be trusted. In return, this sweet natured, happy girl will be a loving, lifelong friend.
Megan is being fostered in Wauwatosa, WI.
