#2367 – Morgan

2½-year-old sable and white female  Seeks companion of canine persuasion

Update, June 10, 2007

Morgan has definitely found her forever home. Her new family describes her as “full of character” and “joyful to have around.” She has settled comfortably into her new home and acts like she belongs. She is paying a little too much attention to the resident kitties, so they are keeping a low profile (in the closet) until Morgan learns that “Cats Rule.” She is getting along well with the family’s Golden and is content to let the Golden be the Alpha of the family. Occasionally, Morgan will assert her own Alpha tendencies, but only when the Golden is unlikely to take offense (like when she is napping).

Morgan’s new family plans to devote the weekend to taking lots of photos of her, so they can send out announcements to friends and family. Another happy ending.

Update, May 6, 2007

Hi again! It’s me, Morgan. I’m sure learning a lot at my foster home. The tastiest thing I’ve learned is to take a yummy baked treat right out of my foster mom’s hand. At first, I wouldn’t do that, but then I learned that if the treat was on the floor, my big bro would get there first and eat it. He’s a pretty cool dog and I get along well with him, but if I want my share of the treats, I have to do the hand thing.

I’ve been having lots of fun here meeting the neighbors and their dogs. I get along with everyone and they all seem to love me. I go for walks every day, and I am very good on my leash. I have learned to sit by the door, so my foster mom can put on my leash and give me lots of pets. I have also learned to use my very own door. It’s a small door in the middle of the big people door. Cool!

I went to the vet one day and everyone thought I was beautiful and healthy. I also got to meet my foster mom’s sons. I played with them and they loved me. Everyone seems to love me, so why haven’t I found my forever home? I’m ready when you are!

New to Rescue!

Hi, my name is Morgan. Aren't I a pretty girl? I just know I am. I am so loveable and sweet and just can't wait for my new furever home. My foster home is pretty neat, but, hey, I want my own mommy and daddy and stuff. I love having other dogs here to play with, I just love it. I would love to be in a home with other dogs to play, 'cause I love to play. I also love my walks and kids.

As long as there are other dogs to play with, I am the bestest girl there is. Not sure how I get along with kitties. But, I love to play and fetch and run around with dogs. I just love all the other dogs I have met.

I haven't had an accident at my foster home and I can do some tricks like sit and come, but, I do not come for treats and will not take food or treats from a person's hand. Maybe if you keep tempting me, one day I will surprise you, though, so please keep trying!

Don't you think I would fit in at your house?

Morgan is being fostered in the Iowa City, Iowa area.
