Veto, FKA Mozart in his forever home!
|
New to Rescue!
He is as beautiful as he is loving! This gentle giant just can’t get enough of his people. In spite of his size, Mozart firmly believes that he is a tea-cup lap dog and loves to lounge on the couch with his foster mom or the children.
Mozart is extremely smart and in a short period of time he has done a wonderful job of training his foster family. By eating the TV remote, he quickly taught them to put things away in their proper place. Next, when the lanky Mozart removed a few tasty items from the counter top, his people learned not to leave food within reach of a long collie nose! Mozart is now working on teaching them additional tricks and they have already learned how to shake hands. However, he has been less successful in training the family cats, who responded to Mozart’s educational techniques by swatting him on the nose. Some people just aren’t willing to learn!
Mozart is wonderful with children and they love him. He enjoys playing with the resident collies, although they have had a few spats over food and need to be fed separately. Now that he has given up on educating the cats, he also gets along well with them, and particularly likes sharing their food bowl.
Mozart finds the uncarpeted stairs in his foster home to be quite a challenge. Although he hasn’t fully mastered them, he keeps trying and usually keeps his back paws on the floor while stretching out to the third set of steps. Although this makes perfect sense to Mozart, his foster family finds it highly amusing.
Mozart has been recently neutered and is due to have his stitches removed very soon. After that, he will be ready for his new forever home. Ideally, that home will include children to play with and will only include cats that are willing to learn. He particularly is hoping for a highly trainable, forever family that understands that a collie is the perfect size lap dog.
Mozart is being fostered in Cedar Rapids, IA.
