#2462 – Rylie

3-year-old tricolor male  This Collie has Special Needs

New to Rescue!

Rylie is the quintessential collie: happy, playful, friendly and smart. He is a tall, majestic boy with an expressive face and eyes that just cry out “love me, love me!!” Rylie came to MWCR from a good home where he was well cared for, but his former owners felt that they couldn’t give him the time and attention he deserved. He was often left alone for up to twelve hours per day, and this affectionate guy definitely wanted more time with his people.

Rylie knows several commands (sit, come, give paw) and has excellent recall. He walks well on a leash, likes to go for rides in the car and is completely housetrained. He is tolerant of grooming including nail clipping and baths. He has a healthy appetite but is somewhat slim because of a pancreatic deficiency for which he takes daily medication.

Rylie is a very happy, relaxed boy who loves everyone he meets. At his foster home he has been wonderful with children, including little ones as young as five years old, and he greets strangers like long lost friends. Rylie is also good with other dogs and is gentle and curious with his foster home’s resident cat. He is a quiet, easy going boy who only barks during play or when one of the other collies is setting a bad example.

Rylie will fit beautifully into almost any home. He probably doesn’t need a fenced yard because he has good recall and likes to keep his people in sight. He should not be left outdoors without supervision, however. His forever home could include other dogs, children of any age and cats. All Rylie asks is a family who will make time for him and give him plenty of love, because Rylie has lots of love to give back!

Rylie is being fostered in Brookfield, WI.
