Description: My name is Giselle and I’ve been chosen as the Pawsonality of the Month because I’m not only great looking (if I do say so myself), but I am also really well read. Most collies aren’t big readers, but I like to ‘digest’ just about any good book that I can get my paws on. I particularly like to sink my teeth into a good mystery, but just about any book will do. Strangely enough, my foster mom doesn’t completely appreciate my desire for “book learning,” and when she leaves the house she always makes sure I stay in a room with no reading material. Go figure! My foster dad says that after all I am only a year old and my fondness for books is just a puppy phase that I’ll grow out of. He may be right, but being a puppy is a good thing, isn’t it?

I am getting along really well here at my foster home. There are other dogs to play with and recently foster mom added a little puppy to the pack. I’m a lot bigger than he is so when I play with him I try to be gentle and not hurt him. Sometimes the puppy can be a real pain in the neck (literally, like when he hangs from my mane), but foster mom says I have the patience of a saint because no matter how pesky he is, I never hurt him. Watch my video and you will see how tolerant I am of the little twerp! I mean, do I have the patience of Job or what? They have a cat here too and I even get along with her. Cats are funny creatures. You would think that they would like to be picked up and carried around like a squeaky toy, but they don’t, so I just ignore her. I have a live-and-let-live kind of approach to life!

My foster mom says I have a really sweet collie nature. I’m not sure what that means, but if it means that I love to meet new dogs and people, then I guess she is right. I like everyone and I just love it when they make a fuss over me and let me give them kisses. I also like to go for rides in the car. I prefer to ride shotgun, but foster mom usually makes me sit in the back. I like to go for walks too, but sometimes when we are on our walk, I like to just sit down and smell the roses. Eventually I am ready to continue the walk but in the meantime, foster mom keeps trying to get me to move. She needs to learn how to “chill.”

I like it here at my foster home, but I think I am ready now to move on to my forever home. If you have another dog for me to play with, that would be great, but I could also get along well as the only dog so long as you give me lots of love and trips to the dog park. I am currently living in Kansas which sounds like a long way away, but it really isn’t. Foster mom has lots of pictures of me and even lots of videos that she could send to you, plus other information about me. That way you can learn all about me without even coming to Kansas, and this group that she belongs to (Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue) could arrange to get me to where you are. (I hope THEY let me ride shotgun!) I love my foster family, but I hope I will soon be able to say, “I’m not in Kansas anymore!”

Well, that’s about all I have to say. Modesty prevents me from bragging about myself, but one thing I will say about me: I promise that if you will love and care for me, I will be the best, most loving collie girl you will ever meet.
