| Description:
Mikko is a handsome, three year old, tri-color collie with a snowy white chest and a black mask that gives him an intriguing, mysterious look. But there is really nothing mysterious about Mikko. He is a happy, healthy, friendly collie who wants nothing more from life than to be by the side of his human.
Mikko came to MWCR from a loving family who were heart broken at having to give him up. Unfortunately, family circumstances made it necessary, and Mikko is now looking for a new home filled with love and attention. Mikko is a very easy going guy who gets along with everyone. He enjoys the companionship of the other dogs at his foster home, but always prefers to be with his people. He is good with children and would probably be fine with cats, though he has not been cat-tested. At night he loves to sleep next to his foster mom’s bed and would be happy to join her on the bed if he was invited. He can’t wait to welcome visitors to his house, but gets so excited that he sometimes jumps on them. His foster home is working with him to try to curb his enthusiasm, but his forever home will need to continue his training. Mikko loves to play fetch and knows several commands including “sit,” “shake” and “down.” He is fully house trained and his foster mom says that he can be trusted alone in the house as long as any tasty garbage is carefully stowed away. He is also crate trained. Mikko likes to go for car rides and is a well behaved passenger. He enjoys long walks, and though he does pull a bit at first, he then settles down and walks nicely on his leash. Mikko is a very sweet, affectionate collie boy who would do well in almost any family. He does need a fenced yard, since he tries to chase loud trucks and motorcycles and cannot be trusted near a road. But Mikko’s greatest need is for the love and attention of his family. He is equally happy lounging by the television or playing fetch in the yard as long as he is with his people. |
