Mocha

Mocha has really blossomed at her foster home. She is gaining weight nicely and as she learns that there will always be enough for her to eat, her food aggression with the other dogs is diminishing. Her foster mom feeds the dogs separately and has had no issues. Mocha has never shown any food aggression toward humans, and her foster mom even lets her two year old feed Mocha treats.

Mocha is also getting along much better with the other dogs and is even starting to play with the little Sheltie at her foster home. She tends to be a little pushy with some other dogs and does best with dogs that refuse to be pushed around. The neighbor cat made a recent visit to Mocha’s foster home and as long as the cat didn’t hiss or run away, Mocha ignored it. When the kitty did run, however, Mocha decided that “chase the cat” was a really great game. Her forever home could probably include cats if they were dog-savvy and wouldn’t run from her.

Mocha is remarkably sweet and occasionally a little goofy. Unlike most dogs who seek out the softest places to sleep, Mocha methodically removes any pillows or blankets from the couch before settling in there. Her favorite toys are the stuffed ones and she particularly loves a huge 14" x 24" one that she likes to carry and toss around the house.

Mocha’s training is coming along nicely too. Currently, she is learning to stay and heel. She is highly food motivated, and you can coax her into almost anything with a tasty piece of cheese. Of course, being a clever girl, Mocha often manages to get a few extra treats out of foster mom by pleading with her huge, brown eyes. Foster mom is a sucker for that!

Mocha is ready to make the big move to her forever home. She does well with children, most other dogs and even dog-savvy cats. She is a sweet, silly girl who is really starting to savor the joys of a happy, loving family and can’t wait to find one of her very own.
