#2475 – Logan, FKA Rocky

12-week-old sable and white male

New to Rescue!

We all know the music and the image that comes with it. Well, our little Rocky had every bit as tough a climb when he first came to MWCR. He arrived with his two brothers and a sister and all had kennel cough; but Rocky, the runt of the litter, had a respiratory infection that was quickly diagnosed as pneumonia. For awhile it was touch and go as to whether this Rocky would be down for the count! Fortunately, lots of antibiotics, non stop nursing from his foster mom and the spirit of a champion has pulled the little guy through. He still has a couple of weeks of medication and in a month he will need an x-ray, but Rocky is well on his way to a long, healthy life.

Rocky is a happy, playful pup who, in spite of his rough start, loves to wrestle and run with the bigger dogs at his foster home and won’t back down from any of them. He is curious about the resident cats, but has shown no hostility toward them. One cat likes to torment him by sitting just out of reach on the stairs, knowing Rocky hasn’t yet mastered the steps. He has a healthy appetite, loves to play with toys and enjoys curling up in his doggie bed. After a rousing romp with the other dogs, he likes nothing better than to snuggle with his foster mom.

Rocky is as smart as he is tough. He is learning the housetraining thing very quickly, will “sit” on command and is already working on leash training.

Rocky will need to be neutered before he can be formally adopted, but in a few weeks he will be ready to take on his next challenge – finding a wonderful, forever family. Like all puppies he will have many new things to learn and new worlds to conquer, but for a little guy that beat all the odds, it will be just one more triumph!
