Update: January 4, 2010 Those of you who regularly check this website will know that Casey is making an encore appearance. Casey thought he had found his forever home, but some unforeseen problems developed with the resident cat and with another dog. We had hoped that Casey would just ignore his new, feline housemate, but unfortunately he showed way too much interest in the kitty. We now know that he will need a feline free forever home.

In addition to cat concerns, Casey isn’t fond of having a new dog invade his turf. He is fine with other dogs as long as he is not already established in a home when another dog is introduced. Bringing him into a home that already has a dog seems to go well, and he had absolutely no trouble blending in with the other dogs at his foster home. Of course, it is always wise to introduce dogs gradually so that no one feels threatened or jealous.

So, Super Casey is back on the market and looking for a forever family that understands he has no time for silly felines and that other dogs need to recognize that he is – well – Super! He would love to join a family that has older children for him to play with or another active, playful dog already in residence. A fenced yard will give him the perfect environment in which to work off all that energy and show off his super hero moves. So, if your family is not just looking for a dog, but looking for a Super Dog, look no further.

Description: “Faster than a speeding sheep. More powerful than Lassie. Able to leap into your lap in a single bound.” Yes, it’s me - the Pawsonality of the Month - Super Casey!

If you’ve seen my video you know that flying super heroes and star football players have nothing on me. I’m strong, I’m quick, I’m maneuverable. And I never fumble the ball. Eat your heart out Adrian Peterson. My foster home has a great fenced yard and other dogs for me to run with, so I get lots of opportunity to show off my moves. But just because I’m fast and strong, don’t think that I’m a bully. I gear my play style to my companion, so when I’m with a little guy like my foster mom’s cockapoo, I’m more gentle than when I’m with someone my own size. I play nicely with all the dogs that I’ve met and if one of them gets cranky and growls at me, I just walk away. When you’re Super Casey, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone!

But Super Casey also has his mild mannered side. I like nothing better than being loved, so when my foster mom starts to pet me, I stand as still as a statue and just revel in the touching. I’m afraid that if I move, she might stop. Even though I’m a guy with lots of energy, I’m always ready for a good cuddle and in the evening I love to put my head in foster mom’s lap and just stare at her with my big brown eyes. She just eats that sort of thing up.

Foster mom says that I am very smart (and who am I to argue), so if you are looking for someone to play fun games with, I’m your guy. I don’t play chess yet, but that’s only because you can’t do it while running full speed around the yard. I am always ready to learn something new, although I would prefer if the learning didn’t get in the way of play, play, play.

Things here at my foster home are great, but I would sure like to have a home of my very own. I love everyone, so it would be nice if I had my very own special people to love me back. My people could be any size, though sometimes when I play with very little people, the Super Casey part of me gets carried away, and I’m not as gentle as I mean to be. I would really like to share my special people with another playful dog, because I’m a fun-loving type of guy and the chasing game isn’t much fun all by yourself. I find that cats rarely like to play the chasing game and they don’t seem to appreciate that I’m Super Casey, so it is probably better if I have a home with no cats. Just between you and me, cats can be kind of snooty and extremely BORING.

Well, that’s me – Super Casey. If you’re looking to add a super hero to your family, I’m the guy. Particularly if you like your super heroes to be soft and cuddly, with big brown eyes.
