Description:
Dice is an extremely handsome, smooth collie boy with the heart and soul of a puppy. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who adheres to the adage “When life gives you lemons, consider them TOYS!” Dice loves toys and they don’t have to be the kind you buy in a store. To him, everything has toy potential. His foster mom is trying to teach him that what he finds on the floor is a toy, but what he finds on the desk, table, bookcase etc. is not. Although he is a highly focused and trainable guy who is working on this lesson, it conflicts with his natural desire to play, play, play.
Dice gets along well with everyone he meets. He loves children and is very gentle. He particularly likes it when his foster mom pets him, looks into his eyes and talks to him. He seems to understand every word, a fact that is confirmed by his fondness for talk radio. Dice’s political leanings are unknown, since he seems equally engaged by liberal talk shows, conservative talk shows, and sports.
Dice is initially aloof with other dogs, but he is neither frightened nor aggressive with them, and once he warms up, he likes to romp and play. He is interested in the cat at his foster home and sometimes will bark at her, while at other times he will just observe. The kitty is shy around new dogs, preferring the “run and hide” method of interaction, so it is unknown how Dice would react to a more assertive type of feline.
Dice is highly treat motivated which makes him easy to train. He is fully housetrained, but does need to work on his recall, since his inquisitive puppy nature is always urging him to explore new things. He is okay with a tie out as long as he is observed and supervised, but he would love to have a fenced yard where he could run and play. He is quiet for a collie and doesn’t do much barking.
Dice’s ideal home would be one where someone could be with him during most of the day. If this was not possible, it would be nice for him to have a doggie companion to keep him company. He would love to have children to play with or who would visit him from time to time, and of course a good radio is a must; also a must, are loving people who will lavish this playful guy with the attention that he wants and deserves. Don’t worry if you don’t have lots of dog toys; Dice is ready, willing and able to improvise.
