| Description:
Elvis has left the building – to go play! Our Elvis is a happy, energetic, cheerful boy who loves his toys and loves to play with his people. He gets along well with the three, older collies at his foster home, though he would sure like to have some younger, more exuberant playmates. He is a smart, eager-to-learn little guy who already knows how to sit on command, knows his name and comes running when you call. Within two hours at his foster home, he had already figured out the doggie door and was cheerfully charging in and out. Being a young pup, he is still in the chewing stage and though he would like to be good, anything that is left within reach is fair game. (His foster mom found her bra in the yard one day!)
Elvis came to MWCR from a family who were forced to give him up due to a job loss. He stayed with a family friend for awhile before being surrendered, so he is understandably a little nervous about being left alone, obviously fearing that his family may not be coming back. He is a little underweight, but has a healthy appetite and will quickly make up the needed pounds. Elvis has been child tested with the children in his neighborhood and did very well. Because he is young and likes to jump up, he will need to be around older children until he learns to control his excitement. Elvis is looking for a family that is ready to commit to the long term responsibilities associated with adopting a young dog. He is smart, fast and energetic and will require time and dedication to help him grow into the happy, well behaved dog that he wants to be. |
