Description: “I’m ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille!”

In case you can’t tell from the pictures, Hawkeye is something of a ham. He loves to perform, play dress up, prance around and literally run figure eights around the resident collies at his foster home. But in spite of his Hollywood style, this handsome, smooth collie boy is no diva. He is a lover whose main goal in life is pleasing his people and getting along with his canine buddies. When he’s playing in his fenced yard, Hawkeye is as fast as the wind, racing about with the other dogs at top speed, but when his foster mom joins the group, he is instantly right by her side. And when the entire group goes indoors, he is a calm, gentle, well-mannered houseguest who just wants to be loved.

Hawkeye is such a good boy that his foster mom says he makes the resident collies look ill behaved. Although he is extremely food motivated, he never counter surfs or goes exploring in the trash bin. He is housebroken, knows all of the basic commands and even knows hand signals. He listens well and is extremely eager to please – particularly if he knows that there will be a treat involved. Fortunately, Hawkeye can afford to gain a few pounds, so there is no harm in an extra treat or two. He gets along well with the resident collies (though they think he is a bit of a show off) and is very gentle with the kitty in the house. He is friendly with everyone he meets, including the neighbor who reports that Hawkeye doesn’t bark during the day when his foster mom leaves him alone. There are no children at his foster home, but it would be very surprising if he wasn’t equally good with children.

Hawkeye walks well on a leash and is also well behaved off leash. He also rides well in the car. However, Hawkeye’s forever home must include a fenced yard.

Unlike most Hollywood types, Hawkeye is not a high maintenance pooch. He is easy going, well behaved and very, very loving. Even his sleek, smooth-collie coat is easy to deal with, eliminating the need for all that brushing and detangling. This sweet boy is waiting to be “discovered” by his forever family and is ready for the role of a lifetime in his forever home.
