Description:
Hi! I’m Kovu and I’m a little shy about talking about myself, but Sammy says its okay, so I’ll give it a try. Until I came to my foster home, I was an only dog and spent most of my time in an outdoor kennel. So you can imagine my surprise when I met Sammy. He is so tall and handsome and smart. He knows everything and has been all around the countryside. It was love at first sight.
There are other dogs here at my foster home and I get along with everyone except the bossy, Alpha, girl dog. She tried to push me around, but I stood up for myself, so now we just avoid one another. There are cats here too and a big bird, and I get along with all of them. There aren’t any little children, but there were kids at my first house and I liked them.
My foster mom brushes me and I just love it. It feels so good and I like to have people paying attention to me. Sometimes she and Sammy and I just cuddle together, and I put my head in her lap. I think heaven must be a place where you are constantly snuggled up with your friends and are always being petted. I like to go for rides in the car too. Sammy taught me how to run and play in the yard and what to do with toys. He really knows how to have fun. At night, when foster mom is asleep, Sammy goes into her room and borrows one of the stuffed bears and brings it to me to chew on. I’m not sure I should do that, but Sammy says it’s okay, so I guess it must be.
Sammy tells me that one of these days we are going to get adopted and go to live with something called a “forever family.” I’m not sure what that is, but I’ll be happy anywhere as long as there are people to love me and Sammy by my side. I can’t even eat if he isn’t with me. If you have ever been in love, you know what it’s like to have that big, empty pain in your heart when the one you love isn’t there. Fortunately, foster mom says that Sammy and I can always stay together. So, I guess I have found my forever Sammy; now all I need is my (our) forever home.
