Description:
Neat! Sweet! Petite! Meg is a sprightly little girl with lots of energy to share and lots of love to give. She came to MWCR after having been picked up as a stray and it is hard to believe that her former family didn’t move heaven and earth to find her. She is such a happy, loving collie.
Meg is fully housetrained and crate trained. Her foster family gives her the run of the house during the day, but she sleeps in her crate at night. She is very tolerant of grooming and knows several commands including “sit,” “come,” and “shake.” She rides well in the car and likes to go for walks. She doesn’t pull when on her leash, but she does like to wander around, sniffing new smells and reveling in new experiences. Although she will sometimes bark for attention, she is generally a fairly quiet collie.
Meg is great with children of any age and loves to be near them and to play fetch. She has a great time at the dog park and is good with other dogs, and though she has not been exposed to cats at her foster home, her foster mom believes that she would probably be fine with them. To Meg there are no strangers – just friends who haven’t petted her yet.
Meg loves to be close to her people and would ideally like to have a forever home where someone was with her for part of the day. She is not allowed on the furniture at her foster home, but she is so eager to be close that during the course of the evening she will gradually work her way onto the sofa to be near them - first one paw, then another, then the fluffy collie butt. Much to her dismay, this technique doesn’t fool anyone and she is always reminded to get down. Bummer.
Meg would love to find a forever home that included children or another dog or both. Since she came to us as a stray, it would be highly desirable for her to have a fenced yard to avoid ever getting lost again. Her idea of heaven would be to spend her time running and playing in her own yard with her own children or her own canine sibling. Can you make Meg’s dream come true?
