Description:
Summer is here!
When last you saw me, it was the middle of winter and I was having the world’s worst hair day. I didn’t think I would ever look good again, and the other dogs made fun of me. But now that some time has passed, my fur is looking much better, and the hot summer weather is making my shorter hairdo look like a pretty smart move. So ha ha to the other dogs that were laughing at me!
I have also gained some weight in the last few months and I am feeling fit and frisky. I love to run and play in the yard, and I enjoy going for walks on a leash with my foster mom. I try to be good on my leash, but sometimes I get distracted by motorcycles or those annoying squirrels who are always trying to get me into trouble. I am also learning that when you meet new people they usually prefer if you don’t jump up and look them in the eye. It’s hard for me to always remember this because I just get so darned excited when I meet new people.
My foster mom has been teaching me all sorts of other new stuff and I’m a pretty good student if I do say so myself. I’ve learned that going potty in the house is a big no-no, so I never do that. I also don’t beg for food when the humans are eating (even though I suspect they get way better stuff to eat than I do!) I eat in my crate and sometimes I stay there when my foster family goes out. When I’m out in the yard and foster mom calls, I’ve learned that I am supposed to come in right away even if there is something really interesting that I want to look at. Humans have a lot of rules, but once you get the hang of what’s expected of you, it’s definitely worth it.
The biggest thing that I have learned is that it is really easy to make your humans happy. Sometimes I can make them smile just by giving them my “happy look.” Sometimes I make them laugh by sleeping on my back with my feet in the air. Sometimes I make them happy, just by giving them kisses. There is a 19 year old boy here and I’ve made him happy by singling him out as my favorite human. This stuff is a piece of cake!
Well, now you know how I have been spending my time. The last time you saw me, I was kind of a diamond in the rough. My fur was short and funny-looking, and I didn’t know all the rules about living in a house. Now I’m cute and cuddly and an absolute master in the art of human-pleasing. If there are any humans in your house that need pleasing, just give me a call.
