Description: Pixly is just about the perfect dog. He is three years old and beyond the crazy, bouncing-off-the-walls, puppy stage; but he is still a young boy with lots of energy for walks and playtime. He is friendly and affectionate to everyone he meets. He is fully housetrained and well mannered, with excellent leash skills. He gets along with everyone and is a quiet collie who rarely barks except in response to the neighboring dogs. He is just a good, good boy.

Pixly came to MWCR because his previous owners complained that he was nervous around large numbers of other dogs and because he jumped up on people. His foster mom has seen no evidence that Pixly is uncomfortable around other canines and according to her, he even tried to join one of the other dogs in its kennel at bedtime. When he goes to the dog park he has a great time playing with the other dogs and will run along the fence line urging the dogs outside the fence to come in and join the game. He did jump up on folks and his foster family has been working with him on this habit. With leadership and consistency, he rarely jumps up now.

Pixly is a happy, friendly boy who loves people of all ages. He is good with children, but should probably go to a forever home where the children are older than five. He is still a playful young dog and could be too rough with little ones. He gets along well with the other dogs at his foster home and when he is resting he allows the others to literally “walk all over him.” He is well mannered and obedient, and his foster mom has taught him to sit prior to being fed or taken outside for his walk. Going for walks is one of Pixly’s favorite things and he is extremely well behaved on his leash. He also likes to go for rides in the car and look out the window as the world flashes by. He sleeps in his crate and when told to “go to bed” he obediently does so.

Pixly is looking for a forever home where he will be loved and appreciated for the easy going, affectionate collie that he is. He will need a fenced yard as his recall is less than perfect, and he would love to go for twice daily walks since he is still a young, energetic boy. His ideal home would also include another dog to keep him company. Pixly will be the perfect companion for a family that is looking for a loving, happy collie to include in their activities and to enhance their lives.
