Description:
Poor Shadow is the victim of a broken home. When her people split up and lost their house, Shadow was left homeless. This pretty, perky, friendly girl is the poster child of when bad things happen to good collies.
If there is such a thing as a perfect dog, Shadow may be the one. She is crate trained, house trained and totally trustworthy when left alone. She walks well on her leash and rides like a little princess in the car. She is tolerant of grooming and will allow her foster mom to bathe her, brush her and even clip her nails without a single complaint.
She is an obedient, eager to please little miss who knows, “come,” “sit” and “paw” and would love to learn more.
When Shadow arrived at her foster home, she had never seen a cat, but she immediately decided that they were pretty neat! She also gets along well with other dogs, and absolutely loves people – particularly children. Shadow is a laid back girl who wants to be with her people as much as possible. Her foster mom describes her as a “love sponge.” There are no strangers in Shadow’s world, just wonderful new friends she is dying to meet. She is a quiet collie, who rarely barks except to remind you that she needs more attention.
Shadow came to MWCR heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. During this time, she will need to remain quiet and inactive. Once her treatment is complete, she will be available for adoption and should have no ongoing problems, since she is otherwise healthy.
Shadow is looking or a forever home that will lavish her with love. She could be an only dog or part of a multi dog and cat household as long as there is plenty of attention for her. Although a fenced yard is always desirable, Shadow likes to stay near her people and could probably go to a home that didn’t include a fence. She is not particularly active and would rather curl up with you than chase a Frisbee. If you think your home would be perfect for this perfect collie, come and meet Shadow.
