Description: This Timmy won’t be in the well: he’ll be in your lap! At 76 pounds, Timmy is a pretty big boy, but he still considers himself to be a lap dog. His foster family is trying to limit his “lap time” but Timmy is such a loveable guy that it’s hard to say no to him. Fortunately, he is so well behaved that “no” is a word that he seldom hears. He is fully housetrained, doesn’t chew inappropriately, rarely barks and can be left unsupervised for extended periods without any destructive behavior. Timmy is a good, good boy.

Timmy is a smooth coated collie, which means that though he has all of the sweet, good natured characteristics of the breed, he doesn’t have the high maintenance coat. His foster mom refers to him as a “drip dry” version of a collie. The dirt just seems to roll off him and disappear.

Timmy is an easy going, obedient guy who knows “come,” “sit” and “down.” He rides well in the car and is pretty good on a leash, only pulling if you let him. He gets along with the other dogs at his foster home, but does like to be fed separately. When he meets new people, he is initially a bit shy, but warms up very quickly and then wants to sit in their laps. He basically ignores the cat. Timmy is good with children, but because he is a large, strong boy, it would be better if his forever family didn’t include children under the age of twelve.

Timmy is looking for a forever home that includes a fenced yard, since he might otherwise wander off. Other than that, his wants are few: dogs, cats, men, women and older children are all okay with Timmy. He loves everyone. If there is a vacant lap at your house, we have just the guy to fill it.
