Chance's leg may bother him until the muscles regain their strength, but the Vet thinks he should be able to make a full recovery. It is something that should be watched for, just in case the problem does recur. He should never be left unattended in a yard unless it is fully fenced.

Description:
Hi everybody! I’m the Pawsonality of the Month and my name is Chance. I think they call me Chance because by coming to MWCR, I got a second chance at a happy, healthy life. You see, before I came here, I broke my leg and it wasn’t healing right, so I had to see a special vet and get it fixed. For a long time I had a cast and a splint, and I wasn’t allowed to run or play or do anything fun! That was hard, because there is nothing that I like better than running and playing. But now, I’m doing great and the vet says I can play as much as I want. I sometimes hold up that leg, but it doesn’t hurt me and pretty soon I will be 100% okay.
There are other dogs here at my foster home and I am teaching them how much fun it is to play. As you can see from one of my videos, I do my best to get them to play with me, but they are kinda lazy and sometimes just want to sleep. That’s one reason why I like to go to the dog park. The dogs there are more like me – ready to go! I’m hoping that my forever home will have an active, fun dog for me to play with, or maybe some kids who will throw the ball for me. I like kids!
I have lots of toys here and every day I like to go to the toy box and choose the ones that I want to play with. I take out a few of my favorites so they are ready when I need them. My foster dad says I’m so smart (and who am I to argue with foster dad) that you could probably teach me to put them back at the end of the day. I know lots and lots of commands and phrases, but I think my favorite is “Do you want a cookie?” Yum.
Did I mention that my foster dad is a magician? In one of my videos you can see that I am watching while burgers are being cooked. I think it would be nice if I could be a magician too and make one of those burgers disappear. In fact, I have been known to make tasty treats disappear if they are left on the counter. Surprisingly, foster dad wasn’t as pleased with that as you might expect. Go figure! Maybe he thought I was infringing on his trade secrets, but I just wanted to make something disappear too!
Well, that’s me, Chance. For awhile things in my life were kind of sad, but now I feel great and my foster dad says I will find a wonderful, new forever home – maybe one that has a playful dog or fun-loving kids, one where people will love me and pet me and always take care of me. Is that your house? Will you “take a chance on me”?
