Description:
Calling all Vikings fans (and Packers fans with a sense of humor)! Cody is a happy, young collie who recently made his football preferences known by chewing up a pair of Green Bay Packers ear muffs. Cody is also willing to chew on shoes and other items, so it is important that he be supervised and provided with doggie appropriate chew toys such as his nylabone.
When Cody came to MWCR as a stray, he was too thin and he still needs to gain some weight. Fortunately, he has a healthy appetite and has shown no food aggression with the other dogs at his foster home. His foster mom is working with him on his table manners, however, since Cody seems to think that every plate that is put on the table is intended for him.
Cody is a loving, gentle collie whose coat is very, VERY soft. He is good with children and plays well with his canine foster brothers. He even tries to entice the family cat into a game, usually without much success. He also appears to get along with the bunny that his foster family recently adopted, although he has only been exposed to her while she is in her hutch. Cody is a well adjusted, good natured boy who likes everyone he meets and loves to spend time with his people.
Cody is 99% housetrained and knows a variety of commands, including “sit,” “wait,” and “down.” When his foster mom tells him to “lie down,” Cody obediently goes upstairs and lies down at the top of the stairs. Clearly this is a failure to communicate on the part of foster mom! He walks well on a leash and will willing go into his crate if enticed in with a treat. Unfortunately, the first time his foster mom crated him when she left the house, she returned to find that he had given himself a bloody nose by rubbing it on the crate. Now, when she needs to leave him alone, she confines him to the basement.
Cody is a loving, young collie boy who will be a wonderful addition to almost any home. He would love to have other dogs or children to play with and absolutely must have a fenced yard. Although he likes to go for walks, he will not “do his business” while on a leash or a tie out, so he needs a fenced property where he can have the privacy that he requires. He is a real sweetheart, who is ready to shower his forever family with love – regardless of their football affiliations!
