| Fence: | A secure wood, chain link, or vinyl fence, with secure gates and direct access from the house is required. He will run and chase cars. He’s also a good jumper and climber (he climbs trees!), so a taller fence would work best for Chip. |
| Good with other dogs: | Chip loves to play with his canine buddies. He is learning that treats are a privilege, not a right. He can be possessive about treats around other dogs, so he needs to be monitored with other dogs at treat time. He doesn’t mind sharing toys with other dogs. |
| Good with cats: | Unknown - no cats in his foster home. |
| Good with children: | Unknown - no kids in his foster home. Recommend no kids, or older kids (age 10+). |
| Housebroken: | Chip is doing great when taken out on a schedule (he may not signal on his own). |
| Crate Trained: | At night, Chip prefers to be outside his crate and he loves to sleep all snuggly right next to his human. |
| Obedience Training: | Chip has probably not had any formal training. He knows his name and sit. We will start obedience training classes next month if he is still in foster care. |

Chip is an oversized sheltie with an oversized heart. He loves to cuddle and to be close to all the action in his foster home. His previous owner was not able to walk him regularly and Chip developed a habit of wandering the neighborhood and chasing cars. He was very shy with new people and would not approach them when he was out on his own. Safety first in Chip’s future! Chip is fostered in Fargo, ND.
Chip is a delightful Sheltie boy who would love an active owner, a fenced yard, and a canine pal who loves to run and play as much as Chip does!
