Sam is a gorgeous white factored rough collie estimated to be about one year old. He is neutered, current with shots and housebroken.

Sam was a stray that was brought in with a smooth Collie. They had been dumped in a swamp in an area to the north of the Twin Cities metro area. Sam is getting very comfortable in his foster home and is showing a tiny bit of dominance over his younger Collie pal. Sam loves attention and is very good on rides in the car.

Sam has been showing increasing dominance over Sly and his foster Mom's older Collie girl. Sam would probably be better as an only dog (we do not know how Sam is with cats). Sam is slightly headstrong, but very clever, so obedience training will be a very positive experience with him and very important as well.

He loves kids and is very good with them. The grandkids have taken him out on a leash and taught him to sit and shake. Sam is house-trained and sleeps with on the floor by his foster Mom's bed.

He wants to please his foster mom very much and it would be good for him to attend some obedience classes because he is so smart. Sam is a bit on the small side for a male Collie, but his coat is gorgeous and he has filled out nicely with good nutrition. Sam is ready for adoption.

Mini Update from Sam's foster mom:

Sam needs to be an only dog, or possibly with a very submissive dog.  He doesn't chew any more, and he is a good eater.  He's a good boy, other than not being great with the other dogs.
