Update for Will – September 1

COMPANION WANTED!

Mellow, easy going, laid back 4 year old male Tri-Color Collie is looking for a walking partner that would love companionship. Are you yearning for exercise and tired of going on a walk alone? Then look no further, I am the answer to your prayer. I would love to soak up your undivided attention and am eagerly willing to give you my unconditional love forever. I would do best with a fenced yard since I like to wander and get very excitable at seeing Bambi & his friends. Won’t you please help me find my forever home?

Bio for Will

Those of you who have been following Will's story will be excited to learn that after much loving care from his foster family and lots of medical attention, Will has evolved into a happy, healthy collie. The last stage of his rehabilitation - his neutering - was recently completed, and he is now officially available for adoption. Will is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and has even had a fluoride treatment for his teeth.

Will loves to go for car rides and is an excellent passenger. He also walks pretty well on a leash, though he does like to stop and smell the roses (and other less savory things) from time to time. He has no problem with stairs and is fully housebroken. Although he didn't know any commands when he came to his foster home, he has since learned "sit" and "lie down" and is eager to learn more.

In spite of all of the abuse he has suffered, Will remains a sweet, gentle boy who loves everyone. He is good with other dogs and is extremely gentle and affectionate even with very young children. His foster mom says that he will approach her four month old granddaughter and give her an affectionate little lick on her forehead.

Will loves to run and frolic in the backyard with his collie foster sister and enjoys playing tug with his favorite rope toy, so his ideal home would include a fenced yard and another dog to play with. But he can also be very laid back and is equally happy to curl up on the couch with you for a snuggle, where he will occasionally give you a little "bat" with his paw to remind you that a belly rub or an ear massage would be appreciated.

Will wants to thank all of the people who contributed to his medical fund and to the kind lady in Iowa who rescued him and called MWCR. He has learned a lot in the last few months. He has learned what it feels like to be warm and loved and cared for. Now he is ready to learn what it is like to have his very own forever home. It would be preferred Will be placed with another companion dog with a fenced yard.

Will is being fostered in the Twin Cities area
