#2408 -- Piper

6-year-old sable and white male

New to Rescue!

You just won’t find a better collie than Piper. His foster mom says she can’t think of a single, negative thing about him. Piper came to MWCR when a family crisis forced his original family to surrender him. For all of his six years he was a much loved, well cared for boy and it really shows. He knows a variety of commands including: sit, down, stay and speak. He walks well on a leash and loves to go for his daily walk. He is perfectly house broken, very well mannered and only jumps on furniture if he is invited.

Piper is a big boy; he is tall and at 87 pounds he could afford to loose a pound or two. Like most of us, Piper loves to eat and will try to sneak a little of his foster brothers’ food, so it is best if he is fed separately from any other dogs. Other than trying to pilfer a little extra chow, Piper gets along well with the other dogs at his foster home and completely ignores the cats. He especially loves children and is happy to allow the kids to play with his toys as long as they include him in the game.

Piper just wants to be with his family. It doesn’t matter what they are doing – going for a car ride, taking a walk or just hanging out – Piper wants to be part of the action. He follows his foster mom everywhere, upstairs and down, looking for love and attention.

Piper’s forever home could include children, cats or other dogs or it could be a single person or a couple. Piper is very flexible. He just wants to be someone’s loving companion.

Piper is being fostered in Fridley, MN.
