Description: Are you looking for the perfect little lady to add to your family? Well, here she is. Our Lady is a dainty, four year old girl with beautiful sable and white coloring and butter soft fur. She is a loving, sweet-natured collie who likes nothing better than to be with her people and even to sit in their laps!

Lady is fully housetrained and can be left alone for up to seven hours without any accidents or destructive behavior. She will sit and stay on command and likes to be brushed. She rides well in the car and will happily jump in and out. Lady has shown no herding behaviors, so she does not chase bikes, cars, etc. She needs to polish her leash walking skills a bit because she will sometimes pull and can be easily distracted.

Lady came to MWCR through a member of Collie Club of America. This person learned that Lady was living her life tied up in a barn and convinced the owner to relinquish her. She is absolutely thrilled to be living indoors with people who appreciate her gentle ways. She thoroughly enjoys the freedom and security of a fenced yard, and it would be ideal if her forever home had one.

Lady is extremely friendly with everyone she meets. She is good with children and gets along well with the cats at her foster home, either ignoring them or inquisitively touching noses. She is wary of the resident, alpha male, and the two dogs have had a few skirmishes over food or toys. They are gradually working things out, but Lady would definitely prefer to live with a more easy-going dog or as an “only” dog where she could be queen of her own domain.

Having spent much of her early life alone in a barn, Lady is looking for a forever home where she will be a cherished member of the family. She would love children that would pet and play with her, or she would be happy in an adult home as long as her people were able to spend lots of time with her. Cats and another laid back dog would also fine. This soft, loving girl is very undemanding, asking only for a kind word and a warm lap.
