Description: Meet “Dunrobin Flirtatious” aka Jenny. It is not often that we get registered collies with such impressive sounding names, but in spite of her rather royal title, Jenny likes to think of herself as just one of the family. The only family that Jenny had ever known was her elderly owner, and when that owner had to go into a nursing home, it initially looked like Jenny would be able to go along. However, Jenny was confused by her new surroundings and had an accident. Then, when another resident tripped over her, it was decided that Jenny had to go. This was extremely sad for both Jenny and her owner, since it is obvious that they were devoted to one another.

Jenny lived a somewhat sheltered life before coming to MWCR so she was a bit overwhelmed by the other dogs at her foster home. She is not aggressive with dogs, but she doesn’t like to be approached by them (particularly in groups) and she doesn’t want to share her food and toys. She has not been exposed to cats, so we don’t know how she would react to them. Jenny seems to think of herself as a human and prefers the company of other humans. She greets strangers with an enthusiastic wag of the tail and likes to cuddle up with her people. She is very snuggly and loves to have her soft, glossy coat stroked. She would be an ideal companion for a retired person or couple, though she would also get along well with older, gentle children (age 7 or older).

Jenny is an extremely well mannered little lady who is fully housetrained (she barks when she needs to go out), likes to sleep in her crate, rides well in the car and walks like a little princess on her leash. She knows a variety of commands and has no bad habits. She loves a good doggie massage and will politely put up her paw when she wants attention. She is generally a quiet girl, who is well behaved and can be given the run of the house when her family is out.

Jenny is a petite collie who only weighs 49 pounds. According to the groomer’s paper that came with her, she likes to be groomed and brushed. Her fur was shiny and immaculate when she came to us and it is obvious that she had been very well cared for.

Jenny is looking for a forever home that is much like the one that she lost. She would prefer to be the only dog, though she might get along with an easy going male dog. She has never run loose and needs either a fenced yard or very careful supervision, at least until she feels at home. Most importantly, Jenny wants people to love and a calm, stable environment. In spite of her high society name, this little girl just wants to come home.
