Description: Eat your heart out Farrah and Marilyn! Tad has lush, flowing, blond locks that would be the envy of any Hollywood starlet. Of course, what the photos don’t show is that someone tried to snip out some mats from the area around Tad’s rump, so he is much better at making a grand entrance than a dignified exit. None the less, since fur grows, Tad will soon be a real show stopper whether he is coming or going.

Tad came to MWCR from a farm in central Iowa where he lived with another collie in an outdoor pen. He is still a little shy in new situations or when meeting new people, but he is quickly adjusting to being an indoor dog and part of a loving family. He had no trouble with housebreaking and will obediently go into his crate when told it is time to “go to bed.” His foster family crates him when they go out, because like many young dogs, he likes to chew and doesn’t always make the distinction between a shoe and a chew toy. He is a clever boy who knows his name and is working on the “sit” and “lie down” commands.

Tad loves other dogs and was initially depressed at his foster home until he learned that there were canine companions there. He also likes children and would love to find his own personal “Timmy.”

Tad enjoys grooming because he likes any kind of attention. He rides well in the car and is a quiet collie who rarely barks. He is learning to walk on a leash and likes to walk along, leaning against his foster mom. He just loves human contact!

Tad is looking for a forever home where he will get lots of the attention and love that he craves. He is a sweet boy who would do well with children and would really like to have another dog to play with. A fence is always desirable, but in the right situation and with outdoor supervision, it might not be mandatory. He may have the great looks of a Hollywood personality, but Tad’s only real ambition is to have a starring role in the hearts of his very own family.
