Katie
6-year-old Sable Merle female

Toby
2-1/2-year-old Collie-Border Collie mix.
My Dad is a sable and white Collie, my mom a Border Collie. I love small dogs and senior dogs, but dogs my own age don't work for me. I love affection, and am very affectionate in return. I would prefer a quiet home with older people, and I am especially fond of the ladies. I am totally housebroken, neutered, HW negative, and UTD. I prefer to dine alone but am fine when treats are doled out to all the dogs. I just don't like them near MY bowl!

Toby
3-year-old Sable-headed White female.
I'm spayed, housebroken, crate-trained, and I love other dogs, people and kids. I walk well on my leash, and I ride well in the car. I don't like thunder or firecrackers. I need a fenced yard.

Available Dogs in Foster Homes

#2773 – Gabriella
AKA Lady
2-3-year-old Tricolor female
"Well, my predecessor found his furever home in record time, so I had to take the stage a bit earlier than I had planned. You see, being something of a diva, I like to make a GRAND entrance, so surprise works! At any rate, I am the Pawsonality of the month for September! Maybe they chose me because I am getting so much better at tolerating my foster sibs, but heck, why would anyone want other dogs when they can have me and only me?"

#2766 – Annee
4-6-year-old Sable and White female
"Look deep into my eyes, and I will melt your heart. I am probably the most well-rounded dog you will ever find! I run like a Greyhound, I fetch like a Retriever, yet I look like a Collie! And I would make the perfect nanny-dog! I absolutely love kids, and the more playful they are the happier I will be. Since they are in short supply in my foster home, I have been known to set off in search for kiddies to play with, so look for Annee wherever children can be found!"

#2785 -- K.C.
8-year-old Sable and White male
"Just call me the canine doormat, as that is what the kitties seem to think of me since they literally walk all over me! Being the sweet, friendly guy I am, I actually enjoy it! I love absolutely everyone I meet, and although I probably wouldn't do well as a jogging companion or in a bustling household, I am so pawsonable, that you can just call me Mr. Congeniality. I'm a bit of a picky eater, but until Foster Mom learns that 'Yes, indeed, I'll have fries with that!' I guess I'll have to make do with what I'm fed."

#2784 -- Lucy, AKA Hunny B
2-3-year-old (shaved) sable and white Female
"Until arriving at my foster home, I never knew life outside my small cage. You see, I was a puppy mill rescue, and to suddenly be released from those narrow confines was a bit scary. But I've come a long way! I am a gentle girl who likes dogs and is willing to share with others. I'm still a bit timid, but with your love, patience, and gentle guidance, I am sure I can learn to face the world with a wagging tail, a friendly lick, and improved self-confidence. These may be baby steps, but they are a huge stride for me."

#2788 -- Arye
5-month-old Sable-headed White male
"I am such a polite dog that I think foster mom wouldn't be surprised if I said 'thank you' once in a while! I ring the bell by the door to let her know that I have a call of nature, and wait patiently until she comes to open the door for me. My only flaw is that I am protective of my food, treats, and toys, but maybe part of that is because I need to gain a bit of weight and everyone else in this house is better endowed. I also play a bit too rough for the kitties. Whatever! I am NOT a wild child, so they shouldn't be such stick-in-the-muds!"

#2684 -- Carly
7-year-old smooth sable and white female
"I have learned to roll with the punches here and get along with my foster family's herd of dogs. When I first arrived here, I wanted to be the only dog, and couldn't understand why these other hounds were here. But I have settled in now, and maybe they aren't so bad after all. Still, I am a people-pooch, so I prefer humans to dogs any day of the week."

#2764 -- Folio
6-7-year-old sable and white male
"I had my very own Lassie moment recently. I barked to alert my foster parents that their little foster dog had escaped and was about to be run over by the tractor! Pretty clever, huh? Foster Mom is thinking that maybe the Vet goofed when he said I had poor eyesight, as I can see better than she can! Or maybe it is those veggies she sneaks into my food. And with my foster brothers as a calming influence and my Thundershirt on, I'm not even bothered by storms or my foster family's absence any more."

#2713 -- Santos
10-11-year-old sable and white male
"Are you retired and looking for a companion to share your golden years with? Well, so am I! I don't have those annoying in-your-face habits that puppies have, nor do I want to play all day. I want to just kick back, relax, gnaw on my bone, bask in the shade of my favorite tree, and watch the world go by. If you can relate to that, let me know, as I think we have a future together!"

#2774 -- Kandi
8-10-year-old shaved sable and white female
"Well, am I having a bad hair day or what? I was so matted when I came into rescue that the groomers despaired of untangling my fur and shaved me. But focus on the face! I am looking for a home that wants a loving senior girl to share tender moments with. And remember, fur grows. By the time Ol' Man Winter comes a-callin', I'll be a fuzzy Collie girl who is starting to come into her fine winter coat!"

#2792 -- Wyatt
7-month-old Sable and White male
"WANTED: A playful, active family to guide me in this new adventure. In return, this happy, cheerful, fun-loving boy will provide you with lots of exercise, many fun-filled hours, and quiet snuggle time."

#2687 -- Willie
2 year old sable and white male
"I have learned so much here in my foster home that even grooming has become a breeze. On a recent spa day, the groomer referred to me as a good ambassador for the breed! Wow! I have achieved diplomatic status! And when I get home from walks, my foster parents say 'Collie Frolic!' and I immediately begin rolling on the front lawn. Life is good!"

#2793 -- Griffin
2-4-year-old Tricolor male
"In my short life I have experienced it all: life on the streets, sun-damaged hair, hunting for my supper, and now living the good life in my air conditioned lakeside foster home. I arrived here computer-literate, so I help foster mom with her computing skills. I wonder how she ever managed without me! I also help my foster sister hunt for squirrels and chipmunks. While I am a pretty quiet boy, I do like to let those noisy boats on my lake know that Griffin is the 'Noise Police Officer on Duty'!"

#2801 – Melody, AKA Mel
5-year-old Tricolor Female
"Unlike many of the dogs that come into rescue, I came from a loving home with a past life as a show dog. But my Dad died, and I found myself staying with a neighbor. I have a strong prey drive, so I herd, herd, herd, and you need to appreciate my instincts! Life according to Mel means that bikes, motorcycles, and joggers were put on this earth to act as my unruly flock that needs to be herded into submission!"

#2783 -- Winnie, AKA SunnyD
2-year-old Sable and White (shaved) Female
"The day I was released from the confines of my cage into the waiting, gentle arms of some stranger was the beginning of a whole new life. You see, I was a puppy mill rescue, and while I crave love and attention, life in my miserable little cage didn't give me any clue that there was a whole different world out there where dogs and humans lived together in sweet harmony. I am a gentle girl, but I am still learning how to trust. What I need from you is a confident companion dog who will patiently show me the ropes of your household and a loving family who will help guide me in my new life. Baby steps, I know, but to me they open up a whole new world."

#2798 – Sam (taken into rescue as Malcolm)
9-year-old Sable and White male
"The family I loved with my whole heart tossed me away like yesterday's garbage, but luckily a Good Samaritan took me in and contacted MWCR. Apart from a bit of arthritis, I am in good health and ready to open my heart to love again. I wouldn't fit into a very active household, but if you are looking for a sweet, gentle companion to share your golden years with, I may be the perfect dog to fit your lifestyle. And, if you feel so inclined to give me a gentle massage on occasion, you will probably hear me sigh with contentment!"

#2374 -- Axl
3-year-old Sable & White male
"Just call me Mr. Pawsonality! I am such a sweet guy that even the resident cat is willing to play with me, but then who could resist a dog who is perfect in just about every way? My one flaw, if you can call it that (personally, I think it is a sign of greater than normal intelligence), is that I don't like to be groomed. But a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do, and I guess I have to keep looking my most handsome for all my admirers, be they human, canine, or feline!"
